To minimize irritating warnings from Internet Explorer it is best to set your security settings to Medium. To do this, select Tools/Internet Options/Security/Internet and ensure the slider is set to Medium. If there is no slider, select “Default level” and then set the slider to Medium. If you still get irritating messages, I’m afraid you’ll just have to click on them and select “Allow…”
Each person that is a Shellis (or a variation thereof) gets their own Personal Page and then, as their circumstances change the information is added to this page. Children will be added lower down the page and these entries will be linked to the children’s Personal Pages. When you are looking at a Personal Page the name at the top (in red) is a link to that person’s Parental Page. By using the links you can move up and down the tree at will. There are two points to bear in mind -
Where a child has died before maturity. In this case the Parent Page will show the child’s name and years of their birth and death and it will have black borders and there will be no Personal Page.
Descendants of female Shellis’s. Genealogy is only interested in the continuation of the name but for completeness I will give female Shellis’s their own Personal Page and include their children but the tree will only continue with those children’s Personal Pages if they retain the name Shellis.
It is from a Personal Page that you will find information about them (if I have any to hand). The only information about them on a Parental Page will usually be just a picture of them at an early age. To keep the Personal Page as clear as possible, this extra information will be available by extra links. This information will have come from either the Public Domain or from relatives.
Each person (that reached maturity) will have a page linked to them that shows their male ancestors going back to about 1640. Each name on that page will be a link to that persons Personal Page. I hope these charts will be useful in working out relationships between individuals. For further information click here.
